"十人十色" = Inspired by Ilya Kuvshinov (Visual Arts Final Artwork: Part 1)

I've been working on this series all of Semester 2 in my visual arts class. It's been an accumilation of works that have steadily progressed. I might show my visual journal recounting the progress at some point as well. It is also based off Ilya Kuvshinov's iconic art style, which was the intent of the project.

The artwork's title is an idiom, pronounced as “juunin tooiro” and means "ten men, ten colours". The collage represents all kinds of young Japanese women as embracing their cultures. They all acknowledge their culture as an Asian, with dark black hair and pale skin. But they also accept their blemishes and imperfections, whilst celebrating their interests, passions and style through fashion and colour. Each girl represents a different style of Japanese fashion/culture all varying and unique.

All images collaged and cropped by PicCollage (for simplicty's sake, so I apologise for the watermark).
